ProvGSec in English Counties Seniors Final....

In the first week of November W.Bro Mike Parkin,  the Provincial Grand Secretary,   was fortunate enough to be selected to play for Gloucestershire in the English County  Seniors Final at Goswick golf club,   Berwick on Tweed.  The finals consisted of three days of competition,  playing a different county each day.

The competition format was 18 hole foursomes in the morning and 18 hole singles in the afternoon.   The county teams of Yorkshire,  Warwickshire and Sussex were very strong sides with many current internationals.   Although Gloucestershire halved their match with Sussex,  they lost against Warwickshire and the winners Yorkshire.   All told,  a creditable performance against very stiff competition.

W.Bro Mike said  "The experience was superb:  the course, competition and the friendliness of all involved made it a week that I will never forget".   As regards W.Bro Mike's personal performance (won two, halved one and lost one)  it was very creditable indeed!  I'm sure we all join in congratulating him and wish him even better results in future events.
